Long Island Rail Road

The synagogue is two short blocks from the Hewlett station of the Long Island Rail Road. Hewlett is on the Far Rockaway Branch (color coded brown). If you are coming from New York / Jamaica / or Valley Stream ("east bound"), you should be in the back of the train. When you get off, cross the tracks and continue on Franklin Avenue past the traffic light (Broadway) 1 short block. The synagogue building will be on your left. Use the parking lot entrance.

 

Bus - MSBA / Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority ("Long Island Bus")

The synagogue is served by the N31 and N32 bus lines running between Hempstead and Far Rockaway. Take whichever comes first. Get off at Franklin Avenue in Hewlett (there's also a Franklin Avenue in Woodmere, the next town over). Buses run on Broadway and West Broadway. If you are on Broadway (N32), walk 1 block away from the railroad tracks and follow the LIRR directions. If you are on West Broadway (N31), walk towards and cross the tracks, and again, follow the LIRR directions.

 

By Car

From Northern Manhattan - Take the Triborough Bridge to Grand Central Parkway to Cross Island Parkway South. Follow the N.J., Bronx and Westchester directions.

 

From N.J., Bronx and Westchester - Take the Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridge to Cross Island Parkway South to Southern State Parkway to Exit 13 S. Right on to Central Avenue 1.6 Miles to Sunrise Highway. Cross Sunrise Highway and Central Avenue changes name to Mill Rd. Follow the Sunrise Highway directions.

 

* From Sunrise Highway - Take Mill Rd. Approx. 1.0 mile to Peninsula Blvd. Turn right on Peninsula (LIPA/Keyspan). 1 Light to Franklin Avenue. Turn Left on Franklin Avenue. Cross train tracks and Broadway. Synagogue and Parking lot is on your left.

 

From South, Central N.J., Brooklyn, Queens - Belt Parkway East to Sunrise Highway. East on Sunrise Highway for 2 miles to Mill Road. (Right after Green Acres Mall and Toys R Us) Turn right on Mill Road. Follow the Sunrise Highway directions (above).

 

From Manhattan - Queens Midtown Tunnel to LIE to Cross Island Parkway South. Follow the N.J. Bronx and Westchester directions from the Cross Island Parkway and then the Sunrise Highway directions (above).

 

From Eastern Long Island - Southern State to Exit 19 (Peninsula Blvd. South). South on Peninsula Blvd. to Franklin Ave in Hewlett. Left on Franklin Avenue. Cross Broadway to Synagogue.
